Comments

Grossuana euxina was described by Wagner from two localities in north-eastern Bulgaria: springs at Aladzha Monastery and Devnya town. Later this species was reported from localities in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, North Macedonia (Radoman 1983, Bank et al. 2006), and Albania (Fehér and Erőss 2009). There are more than 50 reported localities (Radoman 1983). Morphological and anatomical studies (Glöer and Georgiev 2009, Boeters et al. 2017) and genetic studies (Falniowski et al. 2016) showed that these records (included the records from Greece) considered other species from the genus. Finally, Grossuana euxina was upgraded to species G. vurliana, which is not distributed in Greece. https://redlist.necca.gov.gr/en/assessment/?id=233018297
